Falling Upward: A facilitated, interactive journey through Richard Rohr’s Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life
Six Thursdays: October 5, 12, 19, 26 and November 2, 9; 7-9pm
Facilitated by Dick & Susan Cushnie
To be fully human, to be fully alive, is to fall down. This falling down occurs when “real life” shows up in any number of ways that threaten our actual or perceived sense of security, esteem, or control. These moments have the potential to open up in us a deep space for expanding our understanding of both God and ourselves.
Richard Rohr, OFM - is the author of among other titles, Everything Belongs, The Naked Now, and Immortal Diamond. Falling Upward shows how the crises we have been through (falling down) actually position us to move forward (falling up), paving the way for an expanded sense of God and self. This expansion enables us to be more loving, compassionate, and hopeful human beings.
This series will involve reflection, journaling, and spiritual practices to help you connect with the wisdom of this powerful book. To prepare for these sessions, please purchase Richard Rohr’s Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life.
