An Evening Concert with Carrie Newcomer and Pianist Gary Walters
Saturday, January 12, 2019 7:30pm - 8:45pm
Special Location: First Congregational Church UCC, 345 W Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo
Carrie Newcomer is a brilliant writer and musician whose music invites us to consider deeper, more meaningful things in life. Carrie and accompanist Gary Walters teamed with Parker Palmer at the 2018 Festival of Faith and Writing, a performance for which they received an enthusiastic and lengthy standing ovation.
Krista Tippett, of the On Being public radio show and podcast, interviewed Carrie in 2015. Here are some of the comments posted by listeners of her music...
"Carrie's sensitive, insighful and frequently humorous songs are a delight..."
"I have been inspired by all the shows in the episode archive of On Being and revisit them often. This show has been the most spiritually uplifting of them all! Ms. Newcomer's humor, humanity and artistry are a gift to us all."
"Her voice is magical and so are her messages. A balm for the soul."
Come and bring friends, for this is more than a concert. It's the kind of experience to savor now and recall together later!
This is a ticketed event.
Tickets are $20 when purchased by January 4; $30 thereafter.
Due to the high volume of interest expected, online pre-registration is required. Space is limited-so don't delay!
Our Carrie Newcomer events are offered through a partnership between Transformations and the John E Fetzer Institute whose mission is: “Helping build the spiritual foundation for a loving world.”
