The Art of Healing: Creative Processing of Life's Most Difficult Challenges
Sunday, February 24; 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Facilitated by Gay Walker, Art Therapist
“At the deepest level, the creative process and the healing process arise from a single source.” ~ Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen
In this workshop we will explore the therapeutic nature of making art to assist us with processing life’s challenges. Creativity and self-expression are powerful outlets for releasing stress and receiving insight. We will work with simple guided drawings, sand trays, mandalas and Sculpey to access our inner wisdom and the deeper parts of us that know how to heal. No art background or talent is necessary. All materials will be supplied.
Gay is an art therapist and retired from WMU where she was the coordinator of the Holistic Health and Wellness Program. Her art therapy work has been with children and adults who have cancer, dementia, disabilities and those in hospice.
The program fee is $35 if received by February 8, $45 thereafter,
and includes materials, the facilitation with a Certified Art Therapist, morning coffee and lunch.
Please Register by February 17.
Payment in full is due prior to arrival.
